Gabriele Maria Schiavello Bertucci, Ercole De Vito and Maria Teresa Squillaci, Luiss Alumni, have been named among the “40 Under 40” who are shaping the future of Italy, selected by Fortune Italia for 2025. This achievement celebrates professionals who grew and trained at Luiss, standing out for their vision, expertise and innovative contributions across their respective fields.
“In an era that rewards speed, I’ve chosen to stand for what takes time: vision, authentic relationships, and work that builds long-term value,” says Gabriele Maria Schiavello Bertucci. After earning a degree in Political Science and International Relations and a second-level Master's in Institutional Relations, Lobbying and Corporate Communication from Luiss Business School, Gabriele built a career focused on stakeholder engagement, institutional dialogue, and crisis communication. He now leads institutional affairs for Saint-Gobain Italia—part of one of the world’s leading industrial groups, active in over 80 countries in high-performance materials for construction, industry, transportation and healthcare. Reflecting on this recognition, he added: “Calvino encouraged us to take life with lightness—not superficiality, but the ability to soar above things. This recognition reminded me that it's always worth trying.”
For Maria Teresa Squillaci, passion, commitment and competence are the driving forces of change. A professional journalist, she earned a bachelor’s in Political and Communication Sciences and a master’s in International Relations, both from Luiss. Today she leads digital communication and media relations for Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, the organizing committee of the upcoming Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Italy. “It’s a great honour to be included in Fortune’s 2025 40 Under 40 list. The path we take might not be the one we imagined during our studies—but when we devote ourselves to what we love, we not only find personal fulfillment, we also help create something meaningful,” she refects.
Ercole De Vito graduated in Law and earned a Master’s in Business and Company Law at Luiss. He is now Chief Operating Officer of ICC Italy (Italian Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce) and External Engagement Lead for Agri-Food at ICC Global. In this role, he helped launch the Agri-Food Initiative, a global project involving over 30 countries and 300+ companies to promote innovation and sustainability across the agri-food supply chain. He also contributed to the ICC-B20 Global Initiative Against Food Loss and Waste, presented at the B20 in Brazil.
In expressing his gratitude to Fortune Italia, Ercole dedicated the recognition “to the extraordinary network of people I’ve met through Luiss: professors, colleagues, students and Alumni.”
Gabriele, Maria Teresa and Ercole reflect the spirit of a generation that looks to the future with competence and a strong sense of responsibility. Their journeys show the role that a university can play in shaping professionals capable of generating real impact and long-term value.
